Tar Heel Tailgate (THT) is a community of UNC fans committed to improving the tailgating atmosphere. Every year you hear the same complaints about how UNC’s pre-game atmosphere pales in comparison to others. Whether on the field or in the classroom Carolina has never settled for less than the best. Why should tailgating be any different? THT is dedicated to doing something about this problem.
Personally I love game days at UNC. My idea of heaven is grilling out, talking game strategy, and socializing with fellow tar heels amongst Chapel Hill’s majestic tree-lined brick walkways. I think the central hurdle with tailgating at UNC is not the degree but the level of coordination. Everyone has their spot, their menu, and their set of must-haves for game day. The problem is that these little spots are tucked all over campus, and people may never leave their little area. THT seeks to be a forum for connecting dedicated tailgaters all across campus.
You can rely on THT to do three main things: 1) provide links to essential tailgating gear, 2) provide key gameday info, 3) and chronicle the gameday experience at UNC.
